Primary Children's Hospital Fundraiser at Smiths

We had the opportunity to give some service and do something good for the day. My Aunt and Uncle every year volunteer their time and effort for the Primary Children's Hospital Fundraiser through Smith's Grocery where they work. They have been the #1 fundraising store for many years and this year was not any different. They raised $40,000.00! We helped them two Saturdays by being cashiers, grillers, runners, and megaphone workers. We had so much fun and there was a perfect break in the weather to have a warm, sunny day. Katie and Gina both came to help us on the first Saturday while Sheehan had to work. The next Saturday Gina joined Sheehan and I to keep serving and grilling. My favorite line on the megaphone was, "Save a Life, Eat a Burger!" from my Uncle Eddy. Sheehan enjoyed his life as a conehead.
Gina was a perfect griller. She was born to work that grill and we really needed her help!
We love Uncle Eddie and had so much fun spending the day with everyone and enjoying family!
Beetle Bailey was right there along side us! We danced, we worked, we sang, and enjoyed some SWEET snow cones!

Devin and Julianne stopped by too! They visited, ate, slapped on some gloves and got to work like the rest of us! It was so nice to have them with us.
We had a great time and loved that we had the opportunity to do some good for families that have little ones in Primary Children's Hospital. We were grateful for the opportunity to make a little difference and HEY if the world was going to end for the "Rapture" what a better place to be than serving!

In With The New...

Our wonderful BYU married student ward has been dissolved. We have loved the experience of being in a BYU married student ward! When we moved to Utah, last June, we decided that we would go to a married student ward for at least a year and then we would talk about going to a family ward. In the meantime we just wanted to have a new experience. One month short of a year and our ward is dissolved. Whether we wanted to or not we were headed for a family ward. During sacrament, the Sunday I found out, I had been feeling that it was time for us to move on to a family ward. I feel like we are ready to serve in a family ward and we can learn and be served by others in a family ward. Sheehan took the picture above during the 5 BYU Stake conference at the Marriott Center on the BYU Campus. They made the official announcement of the reorganization of our married student stakes and wards. Our ward, the BYU 172nd ward, is being dissolved into 11 different ward including conventional family wards and reorganized married, student wards. We've loved the experience, the friends we've made, and the callings we've been able to serve in. Sheehan has been released as the Sunday School Presidency First Counselor and Elder Quorum 4th Sunday Teacher. I have been released as the Ward Historian, Ward Newsletter Specialist, and Visiting Teaching Supervisor. I wonder what callings we will serve in next...
