Thanksgiving with the Thomson/Snyders

Shay and Rebecca were nice enough to have a bunch of us over to there house for Thanksgiving. Rebecca was just days from having baby Ammon! Shay made probably the best, most moist turkey I've ever had. It was a good time and good food. Lincoln and Vance played so great with Nefi, Eva, and Lehi. I was so happy to see them play for HOURS together.

Seth and Kim stayed at our house for a couple nights and brought their dogs with them. The boys loved their dogs...I did too...Sheehan not so much but he tolerated it. :)

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we went to a community activity called, "A Night In Bethlehem". It was a free event and I thought it was so well done especially for being free. They had everything decorated so well and the singers were very talented. We enjoyed it. Lincoln loves playing with clay to make an oil lamp. Shay's family, Seth and Kim, and my family (although mine were in the group ahead of us) were all able to join us.

Grandma Connie Reyes

Grandma Connie is doing great and I believe is around 93 years old. Devin recently went to visit her in California and took her to lunch. He tried to convince her to come visit Utah. I think it went as well as her inviting him to go see the horse races. :)

Cousin Ian's Birthday!

Aunt Kathy and Cousin Micheal happened to be in town and we had already planned to get together for Sunday dinner for Ian's birthday. He is doing so great and we are proud of him and his wife Madi. I also love this picture because of the little photo bomber, Vance, in the middle of the picture. It's kind of like our version of where's Waldo?

A Day With Mom

My Mom has been working part time as a Real Estate Agent for Alpine Homes as a Model Home Agent. Some weeks it is more like full time as she also takes on client leads from friends and from Devin.

We still try to make time to have fun together as she likes to have fun things to look forward to as much as I do. We slowly started our day at the Pinner's (Pinterest) Conference at the South Towne Expo Center. I love the clothes, jewelry, food, and cute ideas. I ended up with an adorable hat and winter sweater.

As soon as we walked in Lincoln threw his blanket over his head. He must be just like his father and 90% of men (not so into shopping and browsing). Overall I was pretty impressed with how well behaved he was...as long as we kept moving. Vance fell asleep like an answer to prayer. They are so cute when they are sleeping.

We went our separate ways for the late afternoon and ended the evening with a Porter Rockwell Dinner Theater. We were a little unsure about what we were in for when we sat at a table and the 2 couples next to us said, "We thought we were the youngest people here until you walked in." It was hilarious and also very much the truth.

The dinner was held at the Hutchings Museum in Lehi which is also where the Veterans meet. We put a smile on and a positive attitude and it turned out to be a really great event. The dinner was amazing dutch oven cooking. Sheehan went back for heaping seconds of the cheesy potatoes. Dessert was a delicious chocolate cake with what had to be pounds of butter and cream cheese and peach cobbler with ice cream. Sheehan also licked the dessert bowls clean. It was pretty darn good cookin.

Next "Porter Rockwell" came out and started interacting with the crowd and sharing stories with us. I love history and really like Porter Rockwell because he was a rough and tumble kind of man but he was fiercely loyal to the prophet and obviously had a gentle heart. He told us how he worked as a teenage boy on family farm then would pick berries or chop wood to sell in town and had made enough to contribute $50 to the publishing of the Book of Mormon which was even more outstanding since he couldn't read.

I also love the story of the blessing he received that he would never be killed by a man if he didn't cut his hair and the only time he cut his hair after that blessing was to donate it for a wig to Joseph Smith's sister in California. So despite his liking for alcohol and being a bit rowdy he was an admirable man that I really respect.

It's always a fun time with my Mom.
(p.s that gun is real my Mom is holding and it made her a little nervous to hold it if you couldn't tell. haha)

The Boys go to a Train Party!

These little guys were so excited to go to a neighbor's birthday party. I made the mistake of telling Lincoln as soon as we got the invite that there would be a train at the party. He asked me every day, several times a day if we could go ride the train. I could not get him to understand that the train would be coming in a couple days not today. It was a LONG wait for him.
