Grandma Terri reading to Lincoln

Grandma Terri came to visit us in our new house in Lehi and read some books to Lincoln. Lincoln is 3.5 years old.

Jungle Jim's, Farm Country, Aquarium & Curiosity

We kept busy this summer going to all the fun places within 30 minutes of our house. Jungle Jim's was one of Lincoln's favorite with all of the little carnival rides inside. He loved the bumper cars of course. He got squished by some little girls on one of the circle rides. He didn't seem to mind.

We went to Farm Country with a neighbor and The Haub'it's of course. Lincoln was actually not as scared of riding the ponies as I thought he would be.

The boys love the vet room at Curiosity. One day Lincoln was "examining" his pretend kitty and said,  "I need to wear this. The kitty's head hurts."

We have passes to the aquarium and go all the time. It never gets old. They discover new things as their little minds grow and grasp new concepts and remember things they've seen before. There is a floating rope bridge that I can't keep Vance off of and I can't convince Lincoln he won't die and fall through. At the end of the day I get myself an egg mcmuffin while the boys sleep on our 15 minute drive home.

On another aquarium trip with the Haubit's the kids all ran around so excited. They really wore themselves out that day. Beautiful. Just look at those smiles.

Goodbye Gnocchi Kitty

Lincoln loves kitties and I do too. We finally convinced Sheehan to let us get a kitty. First we adopted a cat and didn't realize it had long black hair until we got home. She also had a spraying habit that was stinking up the place. So we re-homed her to an old man that needed a companion.

Next we found Turbo who we renamed Gnocchi kitty after the kitty in the tv series Curious George. Lincoln was in love. We tried to put him to bed one night and he said, "Where's Kitty? Kitty needs to lay in my bed." We said kitty wasn't coming to bed and he sat up and held his knees promptly saying, "I'll wait." We didn't quite know how to respond to that so after some negotiation we finally convinced him to go to bed or at least lay down and maybe kitty would come in his room.
She sure was super cute and I loved her white mittens. Unfortunately we just found that my Mom and Alyssa were extremely allergic to her. More-so than they ever were to Bagheera kitty.

I still miss my Bagheera kitty :(. In addition to the extended family allergies, Vance did not know how to be nice to Gnocchi kitty and would hit her and jump on her. She would scratch and bite him in defense causing him to have big scratches all over his face, hands, and arms. We decided it was best we find her a new home after giving it a couple weeks. So now Gnocchi lives on a couple acre farm not too far from us in Lehi with a little 9 year old girl to play with.

Lincoln saying Goodbye to kitty. He said, "Oh! Kitty is going to live with her Mommy and Ganno (Grandma)." We went with that story. Every now and then he asks if kitty can come back to visit, "so I can pet hims" he says. He's so sweet and just wants a little furry friend.
 Me too, Buddy. Me, too.

Gazebo & Landscaping

We contracted out most of the landscaping work on the house but Sheehan did a lot of work as well. He trenched the electrical line and built the gazebo we bought from Costco. He then wired the electrical in the gazebo and installed a fire pit.

This was my crayon and pen landscaping drawing. The landscaper said it wasn't bad. :)

This was my life...everyday...before the landscaping. Dirt, mud, laundry, baths, repeat. Thank you for grass!

Sheehan is holding up all of the nuts and bolts for the gazebo. There were hundreds. I could never figure out a project like this. He impresses me all the time with his smarts and hard work! I'm a lucky girl.

Enjoying the new fire pit!

Gazebo in progress

Vance went through a "I don't need diapers" phase and decided to work alongside Daddy. I'm sure most construction workers would prefer this when working out in the heat.

Putting up the roof on the gazebo. This is the only part I actually helped with.

The guys pouring the concrete.

The rest of the landscaping we contracted out and were a bit surprised by how expensive it was! I keep telling Sheehan I won't be getting a house without landscaping for the rest of my life. We sure do love it though. We've had lots of family dinners and the boys play out there almost every day.

Grass is in

The front yard and paver wall in progress.

Just laid the sod.

The finished product. I love it!

The boys love it too.  I love when I catch them sitting together.

Our little family in our new home. We couldn't be happier.

Silly Vance
