Our June Summer and Good ol' Family Fun

On May 13th, we went to the Seussical! It was so cute! I loved it! If Sheehan was ever in some sort of play he would be the Cat in Hat. We went with Katie, Grandma Bev, and Norm. I think 3/4 of the audience was kids. We fit right in...

Memorial Day we were folding laundry and decided forget laundromats! We took advantage of the great Memorial Day sales and bought ourselves a new washer and dryer set. Now I feel like a real adult!

They came in HUGE boxes so the neighborhood kids were dying for the boxes. We only had them outside for about 5 minutes and the next thing we know they had been combined into a "clubhouse."

Before the neighborhood kids commandeered the boxes, Sheehan decided to have some fun with them. He's smiling in these pictures but I guess you can't really tell... :)
Any weekend available we have been going to Seven Peaks! Thanks to Sondra we have the Utah pass of all passes and have been loving being able to go whenever we want. We've been 3 times already and I'm dying to go more so that I can get a real tan again.

We also bought another car! It is a green Pontiac Grand Am we bought from someone who was moving in our ward. We are so excited. It is exactly what we were looking for just to get us to work and back. The best part is we don't have an additional car payment. That's what I was most concerned about.

We enjoyed Sheehan's family in town for a week. We took some great family pictures, enjoyed a surprise birthday talent show for his grandpa Busby's 70th birthday, and went to the Manti Pageant! It was a lot of fun being with everyone who we also haven't seen since Christmas. The Manti Pageant was really cool even if we were exhausted for church the next day. The pageant didn't start until 9:30 pm so we didn't get home until 1:15 am.
I was really impressed with all of the youth that performed. There were around 950 actors that participated this year. It was very well done!

The story was awesome and the costumes and props were really impressive. The temple was beautiful!!
We are so excited for Sheehan's sister Sherae! She finally welcomed home her husband Jeff! We are so grateful to him for his military service in Afghanistan and happy that he made it home before little baby girl Piper is due.
Sheehan has a new found love for baking. He has always liked to cook but now he is a baker. haha He has been making cake pops galore but I don't mind...they are GOOD!! He is perfecting the art of cake pops.

June has flown by...this whole year is flying by! Here are some pictures of our Summer adventures so far. The checklist is beginning to dwindle but I'm a Haub and we always have something we can go and do for FUN!
I was dying for a good ol' hamburger and Five Guys is my new favorite. It's the A-1 sauce and free peanuts.... Love it!!!

Sheehan's work (REIC) had a conference on June 3rd with Thurl Bailey as one of their key speakers. He played in the NBA for the Utah Jazz. He makes Sheehan look short! He was an amazing speaker with an amazing story! He was a really sincere guy.
I got a $50.00 gift card from receiving an award at work so I was so excited to figure out what I wanted to buy! I bought myself the movie 'Tangled' and the game Sims 3! I have been waiting to buy Sims forever so this was a big moment for me. Keegan and Lauren can amen my statement. That is a smile of pure joy right there.

Primary Children's Hospital Fundraiser at Smiths

We had the opportunity to give some service and do something good for the day. My Aunt and Uncle every year volunteer their time and effort for the Primary Children's Hospital Fundraiser through Smith's Grocery where they work. They have been the #1 fundraising store for many years and this year was not any different. They raised $40,000.00! We helped them two Saturdays by being cashiers, grillers, runners, and megaphone workers. We had so much fun and there was a perfect break in the weather to have a warm, sunny day. Katie and Gina both came to help us on the first Saturday while Sheehan had to work. The next Saturday Gina joined Sheehan and I to keep serving and grilling. My favorite line on the megaphone was, "Save a Life, Eat a Burger!" from my Uncle Eddy. Sheehan enjoyed his life as a conehead.
Gina was a perfect griller. She was born to work that grill and we really needed her help!
We love Uncle Eddie and had so much fun spending the day with everyone and enjoying family!
Beetle Bailey was right there along side us! We danced, we worked, we sang, and enjoyed some SWEET snow cones!

Devin and Julianne stopped by too! They visited, ate, slapped on some gloves and got to work like the rest of us! It was so nice to have them with us.
We had a great time and loved that we had the opportunity to do some good for families that have little ones in Primary Children's Hospital. We were grateful for the opportunity to make a little difference and HEY if the world was going to end for the "Rapture" what a better place to be than serving!

In With The New...

Our wonderful BYU married student ward has been dissolved. We have loved the experience of being in a BYU married student ward! When we moved to Utah, last June, we decided that we would go to a married student ward for at least a year and then we would talk about going to a family ward. In the meantime we just wanted to have a new experience. One month short of a year and our ward is dissolved. Whether we wanted to or not we were headed for a family ward. During sacrament, the Sunday I found out, I had been feeling that it was time for us to move on to a family ward. I feel like we are ready to serve in a family ward and we can learn and be served by others in a family ward. Sheehan took the picture above during the 5 BYU Stake conference at the Marriott Center on the BYU Campus. They made the official announcement of the reorganization of our married student stakes and wards. Our ward, the BYU 172nd ward, is being dissolved into 11 different ward including conventional family wards and reorganized married, student wards. We've loved the experience, the friends we've made, and the callings we've been able to serve in. Sheehan has been released as the Sunday School Presidency First Counselor and Elder Quorum 4th Sunday Teacher. I have been released as the Ward Historian, Ward Newsletter Specialist, and Visiting Teaching Supervisor. I wonder what callings we will serve in next...

First Check Off The List

We did our first activity of the Spring/Summer. Devin's old friend Brad Taylor came to town so of course we had to do something fun!
Sheehan, me, Katie Pezzillo, Devin, and Julianne started our afternoon collecting food to barbecue. We had a plan to go to Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon, do the short hike, barbecue us some food, and watch a movie. It was so much fun!
It was like hanging out with the Bear Valley ward youth again. haha Of course, the most important thing, I made my first smore of 2011. It was epic...and delicious..... :)

Sheehan couldn't help but be a boy and get all scratched. He was sliding/traversing down the mountain, off the trail, down the shale and of course he was sliding too fast and tried to slow down, grabbed a rock and this happened.

This is the scene of the crime.

Here See all the loose rocks and how steep it is... I told him not to do it...Obviously...he didn't listen.
A picture of Sheehan at his new work. REIC. He loves it and is still SO happy, despite the not so smiley face he is sporting in this picture.
We're getting started on the Summer checklist. I am so excited for the warm weather to come and for the family vacations coming up! Next stop, YOSEMITE!!!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun!!

Spring is here and we are ready for it!!! I can't remember the last time I was so excited for Spring and Summer. I have some serious plans for Summer.... Sheehan and I babysat for my cousin who gave us some VIP and Platinum passes for Seven Peaks, Trafalga, and much more!! I am so looking forward to using those passes ALL the TIME!!! Additionally here is our to-do list for our Utah outings (think of it as our "bucket" list for the summer of 2011): Timpanogos Caves with camping and eating a smore (yeah a smore is THAT important), Hiking the Y, summer festivals, This is the Place, the Living Planet Aquarium, Alpine Slides, a weekend in Park City, Olympic sites, tube down the Provo river, and last but not least...KEYS ON MAIN FOR MY 21st B-DAY on 7-11!!!! I can't wait for that...
Sheehan and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary! We can hardly believe how quickly time flies. We enjoyed our Saturday off and just lounged around all day. No obligations to anything or anyone. It was so nice to relax! I cooked and baked to my heart's desire. Sheehan gave me some very well thought out gifts. It was so sweet! I could hardly believe it! He was listening!!! He gave me a giant bottle of my favorite perfume that I had ran out of months ago.The box alone is one of my favorite things. It was really hard for me to throw away the box and part with the cheetah print. To go along with that he gave me a gift certificate to go get a manicure and pedicure! He made me a very happy wife!
Sheehan got a new job at Real Estate Investors Club and we LOVE IT!!! It is perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Sheehan is so happy, loves what he does, and what he is learning.

My parents came to visit for a quick weekend trip in March.
It was so nice to visit with my niece, little Kiley girl and see her so grown up! I miss being so close to my family but it's nice to have grandma, my brother, and cousins still close by.
My parents treated us to dinner at Tucano's and it was fantastic as usual!!

Devin and his fiance Julianne

I love that place. It is a tough pick between Tucano's and Buca Di Beppo's for my favorite restaurant.

The chinchillas are fat and happy. Do they have a sweet life or what? If I could be any animal, I'd want to be one of my chinchillas. Milly had another baby boy chinchilla on March 4th. We are giving him to Devin and Julianne. They named him Bruce...Baby Bruce. :)

He is about 3 weeks old in this picture. He is a cutie.

He looks just like Milly with his cute gray coloring. (That's the momma, Milly)
We've been to the orchestra with Grandma and Norm, spent many nights hanging out with Devin and Julianne, visited with friends, made many cookie batches :), enjoyed a wonderful conference weekend, changed jobs, and enjoyed every single day. We are looking forward to this coming year. I've been amazed at how much has changed since we moved to Provo June of 2010. We knew this was the place we needed to be and we have been so blessed in such a short time.

Valentine's Day 2011

We had a great valentines weekend this year. It was so much fun!
First off we started with a Valentine's dance with our Stake with food, pictures, dancing, and a live band and everything! It was a lot of fun and great to see everyone in our ward and enjoy their company.
We took some pictures together.

I thought the backdrops were really nice and the pics turned out cute.

On Monday, after work, we had a nice dinner with Devin and Julianne. I got home around 4:30 and immediately got to working on the main course while Julianne was providing the items for the homemade dressing and red velvet cake. (our favorite!!!)
I got red necklaces that were mandatory for everyone to wear.... :).Throughout dinner we played a game called Mars and Venus on a Date: A Question Card Game. It was so much fun! It was hilarious hearing the answers and discussions for some of the question presented. Sheehan was constantly trying to change Devin's mind and convince him that he chose the wrong answer as to what he (Devin) would really do. It went something like Sheehan saying, "I've lived with you for a year and all I've heard you saying is ......." then Devin laughing, "No, I wouldn't do that. I thought about choosing that but I went with this answer because......" then Sheehan, "No, You didn't do that before. I'm right and I know you better." It was like an old married couple except Devin was cracking up the whole time.
After the meal and game we watched the movie, "Valentine's Day" which I thought would be appropriate for the day but turned out to be kind of a dumb movie.... oh well. It had it's funny moments but I'll probably never watch it again. In the end though we had a fun night all together and we enjoyed our Valentine's Day for 2011! Here is Juleanne and her beautiful, delicious cake.
