Go Real!, 3rd Anniversary, and A Surprise Baby Shower!

Work has been absolutely crazy and stressful for me the last 3 months due to changes in policy for the new year. There are days that I love and days that I can barely handle the stress of supervising and having so much responsibility but overall it has been my favorite job and I really do love it. I had some overtime approved for working with help from about 15 techs and a pharmacist on duty. We set a few records and got caught up on tons of work we've been trying to manage for weeks. The shift was scheduled to end around 5:00 pm when my boss (one of the co-owners) called me and congratulated me on the great success of the work day. He then offered me club seat tickets for Sheehan and I to go to that night at the Rio Tinto stadium team soccer Real game!

It was awesome! Of course I was ecstatic (even though I don't know much about soccer) I love watching sports games in person no matter the sport.
The crowd and adrenaline are so much fun. We had nice cushion seats and all you can eat concessions. We enjoyed the hot dogs, pretzels, hamburgers, soda, etc...We were sitting just a few rows behind both the teams so we could see the players faces perfectly.
The crowd was so energetic and crazy.
They had drums, smoke, flags, confetti, masks, chants. It was a lot of fun and for never experiencing a soccer game in person I'd say it couldn't get better than that for a first experience.
Sheehan and I had our 3rd anniversary this last week on 3/21/2012. I had to work and we thought about going to do something but being this far along pregnant I am so tired! So we were once again old home bodies and just stayed home and lounged around. I like days like that better sometimes.....
He sent me some beautiful flowers at work that were too big for my desk and covered my screens. They are a beautiful arrangement.

All the ladies in the office loved them and it made me feel really special to get such pretty flowers just for me.
I got Sheehan a Donald Trump tie because we always have to stop when we shop to check out the Donald Trump ties. We also just bought him three suits so I thought a tie would be nice to add to the new collection. It was a tough choice of which tie to choose but I got the purple one since he hadn't had a purple tie yet and it is my favorite color so he could think of me.
Last Friday Mandy, one of the other supervisors, threw me a surprise baby shower at work. Mandy had put it all together with the plan and sign-ups for the food and decor. She came by my desk and said there were sandwiches in the break room. I was all over it being hungry by about 11:30. I didn't think much of it because we get food from distributors and companies we do business with often so I was asking Mandy what is was and who gave it to us this time. They usually let us as managers know first that there is food or goods available for the taking before they open it to everyone so I laughed when I saw the light had been turned off in the break room like as if they were trying to hide the good food. Little did I know when they turned on the light that I would see all kinds of blue tablecloths and streamers and a wide variety of food and drinks that everyone had contributed. I said after a confused couple of seconds, "Is this for me?!" I couldn't believe they had all got together for me and had given me so many gifts. All the techs and other co-workers are so sweet! There were people from the pharmacy, HR, and DME departments all there supporting me. I don't remember ever being surprised before and for them to all take that time for me made me feel really good.

These are all of the gifts people gave me from work. I couldn't believe how nice everyone had been. Even one girl who we had just hired the week before gave me $10 bucks in a card. Everyone was watching me open gifts and I said, "You didn't have to get me anything! You've only worked here a couple of days! You are so sweet!" then I turned to Mandy and said, "We should have hired more people if I had know we were having this!" :)
I am waiting to get the other pictures from work I had a tech take on their iPhone since I wasn't prepared with a camera. I'll post those pictures as soon as I get them.
It's been a great week and now I am 36 weeks along.
Time is flying by and life is great!

The Adventures of Cat and Dog

Bagheera and Polly just tolerate each other. The fighting is only occasional now as they slowly get used to sharing together. The first time Polly came into the house she immediately chased Bagheera who ran a few feet then turned around and swatted Polly's face. Dominance was set right then. Since then Bagheera taunts the dog by rubbing up to her and rolling on his back in front of her. She gets really still and won't look him in the eyes because she is scared of the alpha kitty. A few weeks later Polly came back in the house from being outside and the cat was sitting waiting for her. As she got closer he raised his paw and held it there as Polly walked past him then finally lowered it once she was completely gone. One day after Sheehan had disciplined Polly for something she ran under our bed and hid there for a couple hours.
Sheehan went upstairs and found both of them laying down under there peacefully together.
We've lost about ten toilet paper rolls now since having the cat since he likes to roll them and scratch them up.
Sheehan found another toilet paper roll destroyed and thought he'd frame the dog. :)
Here is Bagheera hanging out on Sheehan's desk while he works. He is so spoiled....

Valentine's Day and Colleen Comes to Stay!

Sheehan's Mom came to stay with us for a while with her dog Pollyanna. It has been fun to have her around and see her and Sheehan together. Our cat thinks it own Pollyanna though, he has done a couple lion attacks at her since she has been here. The dog won't look at the cat and will quickly leave the room when Bagheera is around. We find it pretty entertaining.
Here I am at 29 weeks. I can't believe we are down to the single digits now and things are going so fast!
We took Sheehan's Mom, Colleen out for her birthday for a new experience at our favorite restaurant, Tucanos. Devin and Julianne came along to join us. We all loved it as usual! I think I blog more about that place than anything else....Afterward we walked around the Riverwoods and went to the Provo Beach Resort to play some games. Then we came back to the house to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Half of us fell asleep immediately. We are going to have to watch it again when we are not so exhausted from full bellies and playing games.
We had such a good time for Valentine's Day. We had Devin, Julianne, Shay, Becky (with Eva & Nefi), and Colleen for some good food and games! We had a ravioli dinner and Julianne made a red velvet bunt cake. We played a couple games all together. My favorite was the Valentine's Day Kiss-Off. The ladies put on red lipstick and tried to fit as many kisses as they could on their husband's faces in 30 seconds, whoever fit the most kisses won.
It's been a great 2012 so far and we are looking forward to our last few weeks just the two of us. We can't wait until little Lincoln comes.

Devyco and Juliaane came over to watch Conference or something with us. Reeford is just a cute little puppy!

Sheehan surprised me on Easter with a trail to some treats and new rocking recliner for when the baby arrives. It was so SWEET!

One day I saw a cat stuck and crying up on the neighbors roof. I made Sheehan help the kitty get down. It was a success. He's good to me about my love for animals. :)

Pregnancy Progress Photos

Here are the progressive pictures that I have so far. I just realized I never posted all of them.

January 15th, 2012 , 27 weeks

New Years Eve 12/31/2011
December 25th, Christmas Day. Lys (32 weeks) and I (23 weeks along)
November 27, 2011 19 weeks
I fell while trying to get in the shower and banged up my legs pretty good. I had some nice bruises on my calves but didn't hit anywhere else. Just hurt my arms and legs. Needless to say we ordered a bath mat for the tub so I don't do the splits unexpectedly again. I'm getting too pregnant and off balance to maintain any shred of coordination I had.

This is a cute little gift basket that I was so proud of after putting together for Brother Tippetts for helping us clean up our basement flood. I just had to show it somewhere....
Here are some gems. Its no wonder I got so big. I was obsessed with smores.

Bagheera

We got a cat! Sheehan wouldn't go for a dog (yet!....) so we got a cat. His name is Bagheera cause he looks like the black panther in the Jungle Book. He was free and mostly stays outdoors. He is all black except for a little bit of white on his chest and belly. When he is not outside he spends his time following us around the house. He likes to sprint up and down the stairs. He likes to do some yoga moves I'm pretty sure I did at prenatal yoga a few weeks ago. He likes to roll the toilet paper which makes Sheehan very upset.... : ) hahaha. He killed a huge spider (which is one of the primary reasons I wanted a cat). He accidentally flung the spider up in Sheehan's face while Sheehan was watching him kill it. They both took off running then came back to finish the job after they got themselves together. We like him.

These pictures are of him in one of his favorite positions to hang out and sleep in. In yoga it's called the butterfly pose. Namaste everybody...

Merry Christmas, 25th Golden Birthday, and a Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful holiday this year! Full of family and friends! So many people to see and so little time.
Here is our humble abode decorated for Christmas. I was so excited to have a house to put Christmas lights up then we found out they had broke....maybe next year. :( I loved putting out my passed down It's A Wonderful Life Christmas House Collection! We watched the movie with family as our usual tradition goes.

A few weeks ago we went to a cool place with Devin and Julianne full of trampolines and foam pits.

Since I am now 24 weeks along I couldn't join in on the jumping but became the honorary picture taker. Sheehan was dressed for the part flying ("jumping") around in his Superman shirt.
It was Sheehan's golden birthday this year, 25 years old on the 25th of December! Before we left for our trip to California we went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, Tucanos! We loved it and stuffed ourselves as usual! By the end of the night we realized we both did not have our wallets with us so I stayed at the table while Sheehan raced home and back in a record 20 minutes to get some money. That was awkward but it was still a great night...definitely memorable.
We started Christmas off by leaving after work on Thursday, the 22nd and driving straight to Sheridan's in Vegas. We stayed up until 2:00 in the morning hanging out with everyone including Sheehan's mom, Colleen. The next morning we made breakfast and Seth and his family came over to join us. A little before noon we took off for Hesperia, California to visit Sheehan's Grandma Patty, Shena (sister), and Payne (nephew). We had lunch there then drove to Silver Lakes and had a wonderful dinner together with Sheehan's sister, Shanette and Grandparents Pat and Marilyn Hinman. His Dad, David Thomson, was also able to join us for dinner and a couple games of pool! We stayed the night at Shanette's out in Silver Lakes then Saturday morning we drove out to Barstow to spend Christmas Eve morning brunch with Scott and Terri. Sheehan taught them how to make cake pops which were delicious, as is expected. From Barstow (ARE YOU TIRED YET??? We were...) we traveled to Lancaster to visit with my Dad's side of the family at Grandpa Haub's house. It was nice to hear Grandpa play the piano again and we are fortunate to be able to spend time with him when we can. He is 90 years old now but is still very active and healthy. He is losing his hearing a little but that hasn't affected his ability to play the piano with amazing skill and talent. When we finally made it to my parents after Grandpa Haub's on Christmas Eve we decided to start Christmas morning (Sheehan's birthday) with birthday presents first. Sheehan had party favors for all the men in my family which were individually monogrammed white collared shirts. Thanks to my Mom. :)

Sheehan got a lot of great gifts from all of our families and we are so grateful for the generosity and love. My Mom bought Sheehan a gold shirt to wear with a huge "It's My Birthday" badge and a gold arm band all for his Golden Birthday. It was awesome! We had to embarrass him just a little. After all you only get one Golden Birthday. :)

We came home on the 28th so that I could get back to work the next day. We fit a ton of stuff in our little Honda Civic. It was amazing! Sheehan should get an award for his origami, Tetris work.
This is what the living room looked like after we unloaded the Civic. It was unbelievable how much we fit. It all barely fit in the living room!! We were happy to be home! Then at around 1:00 am in the morning I heard water running. I knew the tenants down stairs were still out of town and nothing was running in our part of the house so Sheehan ran down to the tenant's unit and found a minor flood. A pipe had disconnected from the tank of the toilet and flooded part of the unit. It took 3-4 hours that night to suck up the water with 2 vacuums. Here is the wonderful, Saint of a man Brother Tippetts helping us vacuum up water from 1:30-4:00 in the morning. He has been amazing helping in our emergency and helping us install the kitchen counters several weeks ago. He is a wonderful example of true service.
We used a dehumidifier, high power fans for several days, and replaced the carpet padding to fix our little natural disaster. We are grateful it happened just hours after we got home. We don't even want to imagine the damage and mess that could have been caused had the pipe been broken for several hours or days before we found it. So fortunate. We know this was not a coincidence and are counting our blessings!
For New Years we spent the evening with Devin and Julianne. We went out to Iggy's Sports bar restaurant for drinks and appetizers while we watched the Spurs-Jazz game. Then we headed back to the house and played Acquire and Bananagrams until midnight.

Mmmm....Sparkling Cider....Love this stuff!!

We were so busy trying to plan all these pictures that we missed the countdown by a minute... Devin and I were supposed to be watching it and we misunderstood the time....we had one job....next year someone else is in charge of the countdown.... Then there were cops and a tow truck outside, for some reason, so we didn't want to set off our car alarms ceremoniously for the new year with several police men right next to our cars....another memorable holiday. haha
Here's a little clip of Sheehan jumping off the climbing wall into the foam pit then getting stuck in the foam.
