We had lots of time with family this summer and Lincoln loved having lots of cousins around. We spent the day in Salt Lake, but before we could go Devin convinced us to check out a Volkswagon show at the mall in Orem. He was very excited. We walked it a few times but as he says we "don't share the passion." So, as our feet began to burn from the hot asphalt we decided it was time to journey on to Temple Square.
We played in the children's area of the Church History Museum. Naturally, we spent the majority of our time sitting and "driving" this car. We went to the old tabernacle and ended with some lunch at Kneaders. Yum!! On our walk back to the car Lincoln miraculously fell asleep. One of the handful of times he has fallen asleep in the hustle and bustle of daytime.
Grandma Bev rented the kids a giant dragon bounce house. Kiley happily exclaimed, "I wish I had a dragon in my backyard!" We said no need, Grandma has one. So we ate pizza, drank juice, and jumped in the bounce house. Lincoln wasn't so into the bounce house but the kiddie pool and hose made his dreams come true.
On another outing we went to The Smoking Apple BBQ restaurant in Lindon. It was very yummy from what I barely ate (once again, gallbladder issues). Everyone seemed to enjoy it and Lincoln was typically everywhere. On the table, under the table, in your lap, running out the door, in the kitchen, you name it; he was everywhere but eating at the table calmly with everyone else.
My Mom and I one day managed to escape and have a nice dinner just the two of us at Gloria's Little Italy. As usual, it was delicious. I loved it. This was after gall bladder surgery so being able to eat made the experience much more enjoyable.
And on yet another outing we went to the Springville art museum with Lys, the girls, and my Mom. We loved the gardens, the painting, and dressing up Lincoln. He huffed at first then gave up and enjoyed it all as much as we did. He looks so cute!!
Whenever Sheehan leaves for an inspection he is usually gone for only a couple of hours but they are long hours for this little boy who loves his Daddy. He watches through the window and loves to play on the porch so he can see when Daddy's car pulls up.
Some days Sheehan comes home for some lunch and Lincoln has to sit right next to him. He also likes to dip the pizza in garlic sauce just like Dad.
Some days Lincoln takes work into his own hands and reorganizes the cans in the kitchen. He has throw away one too many so we found him a box for his reorganizing sessions.
If you are on the computer, Lincoln demands to be on your lap (much as he has been the entire time I have been writing this post) and then consequently on the desk taking over the mouse and keyboard and turning the screen on and off. Sheehan is good to play with him despite his need to provide for us and work on business.
What can we say, we love when daddy comes home? We are lucky to have him home more than most.
