For Labor Day weekend we went to Las Vegas. Our first stop was in St. George for Clyde Nelson III first child's baby blessing. We have to wake up really early to get to 9:00 am church on time. Being pregnant (oh yeah, by-the-way I'm pregnant) and getting no sleep was not a good combination.

I had a special surprise for our whole Nelson family. For years, different members of our family have tried to get a copy of the episode of The Price is Right that "Papa" Clyde Nelson Sr. was in and won a car and a ring. The ring is still in the family. The Thunderbird has since been sold years and years ago. To make a very long story short I was able to find out some key information to acquire the copy of the episode. It was archived in Burbank, California with Freemantle Media. Some of the important details included:
- It was the night time version of the Price is Right which only ran for a few years in the 70's
- The host was Dennis James not the popular Bob Barker.
- The date the episode aired was October 16th, 1972 which was verified by the certificate he received with the ring he won on the show that is currently in my Mom's possession.
So my Mom and I were the only people that knew we had acquired the actual episode. Papa died at 45 years old while my Mom was pregnant with Devin so the only knowledge I have of him are stories and a few family pictures. Everyone was shocked and it was really fun to share the moment of watching the episode with all the family.
By Sunday evening we moved on to Las Vegas to keep the party going!
We played some late night Bingo, ate lots of yummy food, visited with Sheehan's mom and brothers (Seth and Sheridan and their families), swam in the kiddie pool (a lot), and walked the strip of course. It was lots of fun!
