Lincoln's 1st Birthday!

Sheehan and I don't know where the time has gone. We have learned so much in this year as we have grown into our new role as Mom and Dad. We are so grateful to have our sweet Lincoln boy in our family. He has filled our home with lots of laughs and smiles.

We had a small family gathering for Lincoln's birthday. Shay and Rebecca came with Eva and Nefi. Alyssa and Mr. Perry with Kiley girl and Lexi. Devin and Juliane with baby Jacqueline.

The Birthday Boy!

We found that Lincoln loves bubbles. Like most little ones his age, he can't get enough. He was so excited about this bubble machine we got him for his birthday he couldn't even contain himself. Every picture we took he is falling over in excitement.

I made Lincoln his birthday cake. My grandiose plans in my head didn't quite turn out but he didn't seem to mind. He picked up his whole cake and pushed it straight into his face.

He ate almost the whole thing.

Happy and wet boy

The kids all loved playing.

This is one of his birthday gifts that he plays with all the time now. Thank you Shay and Rebecca!

He also got this squishy ball which he played with a lot. It broke so we are going to try to find him another one. It came in handy during sacrament.

Arbor Day

Lincoln and I went and took a trip out to Salt Lake to the Red Butte Garden Arboretum at Utah State University for Arbor Day. Lys, Deven, Devin, and Julianne joined us while Sheehan worked.
Lincoln loves graham crackers. We go through boxes of them every week.

Before our expedition we went to the barber shop for Lincoln's 2nd haircut. He is very good to sit still while they cut his hair which sitting still is typically not in his repertoire.

At the end of our fun day Lincoln did one of his favorite things, which is to play around and wrestle with Daddy. I'm not sure it would be appropriate to title this move shown but I'd say Lincoln won this round. Lincoln-1, Daddy-0

Hospital/Relief Society Service Project

As part of my church calling in the Relief Society Women's Organization I am able to plan activities for the women to get together and learn skills or give service. We decided to do a service project for the pediatric unit of our local hospital Utah Valley Regional Medical Center here in Provo.

We made surgery buddy dolls that are given to children. They have no faces so the kids can decorate them however they like. The doctors use these dolls to show the kids what procedure they are going to have done. The dolls are comforting companions for the children in the hospital.

It went great and I am grateful to all of the ladies that helped this project come together to a make it a reality. The hospital was so grateful. We attached the picture of all of us ladies holding the dolls to every doll given so the children and the family's can know that someone cares, loves, and is praying for them.
